With the 2019/20 treble winning season campaign finishing earlier because of the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, we are excited to welcome new scholars and welcome back our existing members to the academy.
With the academy already a hotspot for attracting the best talent across the South East, we want to ensure the safety of all our members and the return to training and resumption of matches is a first step towards normality post-lockdown, the way we will prepare and train will be new process. Strict hygiene and social distancing measures are in place at training grounds, while players are screened for Covid-19 symptoms.
The academies first pre-season domestic friendly will be announced in due course.
Crawley Town Performance Head Coach Kevin Spriggs said ââWe donât have to be match-fit now, we will increase the intensity, day by day, ready to peak performance at the right time. Itâs important to recognise youngsters develop and grow at different rates and we are ensuring that our training schedule prevents any injuries as well as the potential to burnout after the lockdown periodâ.
In addition to the recent international announcement, ASE also opens the door for students to showcase themselves to take part in an elite invitation only pre season tournament with already Premier League giants Leicester City in attendance.
