ASE Announce Head of Coaching

We are delighted to announce our new Head of Coaching, Alex O’Leary.

Alex is a former Professional Footballer with a wealth of International, European and Domestic Football League experience.

Alex has represented the likes of Colchester United and Dagenham & Redbridge as well as playing professional football overseas.

His role will involve taking a strategic view of the Academy as a whole, encompassing all areas from a football and operational perspective to fully enhance player development.

With over a decade of experience in playing and coaching within professional football and having worked with some of the best and most respected coaches in the game, his invaluable experience is a perfect fit for our academies.

Academy Director Jamie Strong stated ‘Alex has a great pedigree in the game, and having worked together with him as a player and coach, I know how well the scholars will relate to his playing experience and values, which align perfectly with our mission to provide top level support and elite coaching to develop and fulfil the potential of everyone one of our scholars on and off the pitch’

Head of Coaching Alex O’Leary added ‘I am really looking forward to my role, particularly helping develop younger players and using my experiences in the game to support their pathway into senior football and other opportunities that may arise for them in the game. I am looking forward to working alongside the academy team, with the aim of building on the great foundations that are already in place and cementing our reputation as one of the best environments in the country for young footballers to develop and progress.”
